The Fliptastic program is for boys and girls who are in the first grade and above. There are three levels– Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced with each level divided into three sub-levels. Each child is evaluated either in class or by a private evaluation and placed into the appropriate level based on all-around skill ability. This program is a skill progression system, where the skill in one level leads to a correlating skill at the next level. How do we monitor your child? Once in a class, your child’s instructor has a skill card to track the progress of your child. The instructors are looking for mastery of the skills which would include; name of skill, sight recognition, and demonstration of the skill with minor flaws. Posters are handed out to all students listing the skills for their level. These posters match the skill cards that the instructors are using. Your child should keep this poster at home so, that they can monitor their success with you. How does the system work? Instructors mark off the skills which your child has mastered in the current session. Once each session, small envelopes are handed out to the students with a series of numbers on the outside. Inside you will find stars which are for the poster. Please take this envelope and match the numbers on the envelope to the poster and place a star to the poster. These are the skills that have been mastered, once all skills have been mastered your child moves onto the next sub-level. If your child is absent during week 6, stop by the office the following week to pick up your child’s stars. If your child graduates from a beginner to intermediate or intermediate to advanced please, contact the office for new class availability. If your child has not received a poster please stop by the office, or speak directly to your child’s instructor to get one. If you have any further questions about this program please give us a call at 603-642-7200.
