Swimming is a vital skill that not only ensures safety but also provides a lifetime of enjoyment and health benefits. we are thrilled that you’ve entrusted us with the responsibility of teaching your child this important life skill. Our experienced instructors are committed to creating a supportive and fun environment where your child can learn, thrive, and develop a love for the water. We’re looking forward to making a splash and starting this exciting journey together!
What to expect on your first private lesson
When you arrive:
- The pool entrance is located at the far end of the parking lot near the main entrance.
- Our staff will be waiting for you at the check-in kiosk.
- **PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD USES THE RESTROOM BEFORE CLASS** There are restrooms inside on the second floor. We cannot stress this enough. Stopping class for a bathroom break wastes valuable instruction time for your child.
- There are cubbies in the outside waiting area for your use. Swimmers will leave ALL their things either with their adult or in the cubbies.
- Please remember that all parents need to view the lesson from outside the pool enclosure.
- Please wait near the pool for your instructor to call swimmer(s). We use the right gate as the “In” gate and the left gate by the pool house as the “Out” gate.
- At the end of class, the instructors will bring your child back to the viewing area.
- Please be on time for your class. We find that many young swimmers need the time before class to prepare mentally/emotionally for the water. If you are late, please check in. Our deck manager will help get your child into the correct class. We are unable to extend the length of your private lesson to accommodate late arrivals.
Before your first private:
- In order for your instructor to begin formulating the curriculum for your private lessons, it is helpful for us to know some things about your child and your goals for the lessons.
- Please submit the Private Swim Questionnaire prior to your first class. It will be given to your instructor for their review.
- Click here to submit the Private Lesson Questionnaire.

Weather Information
Let’s face it, we live in New England and that means the weather can change very quickly. It can be sunny one minute and torrential rain the next. We make every possible effort to proceed with classes in less-than-ideal weather. Our warm water pool is heated to 85-89º, so even in less-than-ideal weather conditions we can continue with lessons.
- For safety reasons, we close the pool after we last see lightning or hear thunder, until it is safe to re-enter the water.
- If we cancel classes, we will send out an SMS text to the phone numbers on file. Please check the parent portal to make sure your cell number is correct, and you have opted in to receive text messages. Please remember these texts are one way we will not receive any replies. We will also follow up with an email notification.
- All private classes cancelled due to the weather, will be eligible to be re-scheduled. Shortly after the lesson is cancelled, we will contact you to reschedule based on staff availability and student availability.
- Please note that we do not cancel classes due to rain or cold unless it is extreme, nor do we cancel afternoon classes based on weather during the morning.
