Welcome to your Swim Lesson!

Swimming is a vital skill that not only ensures safety but also provides a lifetime of enjoyment and health benefits. we are thrilled that you’ve entrusted us with the responsibility of teaching your child this important life skill. Our experienced instructors are committed to creating a supportive and fun environment where your child can learn, thrive, and develop a love for the water. We’re looking forward to making a splash and starting this exciting journey together!

What to expect on your first day

When you arrive:

  • The pool entrance is located at the far end of the parking lot near the main entrance.
  • Our staff will be waiting for you at the check-in kiosk and assist you with using the kiosk to check in. Each class you will check in, using your primary phone number on the account.  If someone else brings your swimmer(s), please make sure they know the primary phone number.
  • After check-in, each swimmer will take their colored swim bracelet from the bucket.  Our staff will let you know which color bracelet your class will be.
  • **PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD USES THE RESTROOM BEFORE CLASS**There are restrooms inside on the second floor.  We cannot stress this enough.  Stopping class for a bathroom break wastes valuable instruction time for your child and all children in the class.
  • There are cubbies in the outside waiting area for your use. Swimmers will leave ALL their things either with their adult or in the cubbies.
  • Please wait near the pool for your instructor to call their class.  Instructors will call their classes by the colored wrist bands. We use the right gate as the “In” gate and the left gate by the pool house as the “Out” gate.
  •  At the end of class, the instructors will bring your child back to the viewing area and collect the bracelets. Please don’t take home our bracelets, if you find your child has one after class, please leave it at the kiosk table.
  • Please be on time for your class.  We find that many young swimmers need the time before class to prepare mentally/emotionally for the water.  If you are late, please check in and take the appropriate bracelet.  Our deck manager will help get your child into the correct class.

Get Ready to Swim (What to wear/bring)

What to Bring to Class

  • 1 or 2 piece bathing suit (rash guard optional)
  • Bring a Towel (or 2)
  • All long hair must be tied back
  • Bring goggles if your child likes to wear them (they are not required). Swim masks are not allowed.
  • Do not bring a flotation device.  We will provide everything necessary during their lesson.
  • If your child is in a Parent and Me swim class OR is not reliably potty trained, please scroll down to the section on swim diapers
  • Make sure your swimmer goes to the bathroom before class.

Spectators, we provide seating from the viewing area outside the pool area.  However, some parents like to bring their own lawn chairs.

Swim Diapers

Who needs a swim diaper?

  • All children in our Sea Horse, Sea Turtle and Sea Lion classes MUST wear swim diapers, even if they are potty trained.  No EXCEPTIONS
  • All other levels: If your child is not potty trained, they must wear a swim diaper.

Happy Nappy Swim Diapers

We HIGHLY recommend using Happy Nappy brand swim diaper for your child. It is a reusable neoprene swim diaper with double layers AND has the elastic bands around the legs. If you choose Happy Nappy Brand, your child will only need to wear one swim diaper.

  • If you choose a brand that is not Happy Nappy, you will need to wear two swim diapers, the outer layer needs to be a snug-fitting non-disposable swim diapers or swim pants and the inner layer needs to be a disposable swim diaper.
  • Wearing only a disposable diaper (like a Little Swimmers) and a normal bathing suit is not allowed.
  • Your child can wear a bathing suit over their Happy Nappy.

We sell Happy Nappy Brand swim diapers at a price that is better than Amazon!

Do you need to miss a class?

Make up class information

We know that life happens and sometimes you have to miss a class -and- living in New England, we know that the weather doesn’t always cooperate.  We happily offer make classes for any time you need to miss a swim class.
Please note the following:

  • Make up classes are self- scheduled through the parent portal.
  • Wherever possible, we ask that you schedule a future absence. This will allow you to schedule your make-up class before you miss the class.  However, we know this is not always the possible.  If you are unable to schedule your future absence in the portal, you will be able to schedule your makeup class after the missed class has ended and class attendance has been finalized.  There is no need to call in your absence.
  • Make up classes are scheduled in special make-up only classes based on level.  We do not guarantee instructor or curriculum (other than it will be level appropriate). Make up classes are scheduled based on Level not Class Name.  If you are unsure what level your child’s class is, you will find it in the parent portal in the name of the swim class – for example: Clownfish: Level 2 M-Th 4:05pm FT3
  • Make up classes are offered Friday morning and Saturday at noon and on Sunday during the first Sunday Swim session.
  • All make up classes expire 4 weeks after the missed class, regardless of the reason for the cancellation.  It is your responsibility to schedule your swim make up within that time frame.
  • In the event of weather cancellations, where we are able, we add additional make up availability immediately following the missed class. We encourage you to schedule your make up classes as soon as you can after a weather cancellation for best availability.
  • No refunds will be given for missed classes regardless of the reason for the cancellation.
  • If you need to cancel a scheduled make up class, please cancel via the parent portal.  We require at least 24 hours notice of cancellation.
  • No-shows to make up classes will not be re-scheduled.

Weather Information

Let’s face it, we live in New England and that means the weather can change very quickly. It can be sunny one minute and torrential rain the next.  We make every possible effort to proceed with classes in less-than-ideal weather.  Our warm water pool is heated to 85-89º, so even in less-than-ideal weather conditions we can continue with lessons.

  • For safety, we close the pool after we last see lightning or hear thunder, until it is safe to re-enter the water.
  • If we cancel classes, we will send out an SMS text to the phone numbers on file.  Please check the parent portal to make sure your cell number is correct, and you have opted in to receive text messages.  Please remember these texts are one way we will not receive any replies. We will also follow up with an email notification.
  •  If we must cancel your class due to the weather, you will be directed to schedule a make-up class. We will add additional make-up opportunities as needed.  Please remember that all makeup classes expire 4 weeks after the missed class, this includes weather cancelations.
  • Please note that we do not cancel classes due to rain or cold unless it is extreme, nor do we cancel afternoon classes based on weather during the morning.
